BE House: A Green Haven of Modern Living

Share:

BE house - a stunning architectural marvel designed for an entrepreneurial family of four in Argentona, a quaint city located just a 30-minute drive from Barcelona. This remarkable dwelling sits on a 370sqm plot, boasting an optimal orientation and nestled amidst a charming neighborhood of small houses.

The BE house is a living embodiment of architectural brilliance, seamlessly merging aesthetics, sustainability, and energy efficiency. From its compact design to its cutting-edge solar power system, every aspect of this extraordinary dwelling has been thoughtfully crafted to create a harmonious living space for its enterprising occupants.

Notable Architectural Facts:

  • Passivhaus Principles: Drawing inspiration from the Passivhaus concept, the BE house is a testament to sustainability and energy efficiency. Its compact design and well-oriented structure maximize energy conservation.
  • Hermetic and Well-Isolated Façade: The house is wrapped in a meticulously crafted, hermetically sealed façade that effectively prevents leaks. This feature enhances insulation, minimizing heating and cooling demands.

  • Dry Industrialized Construction: The ground and first floors are ingeniously constructed using a dry industrialized system. The wooden frame with slabs, beams, and a Thermo-treated pine wood finished façade ensures a seamless blend of modern aesthetics and environmental consciousness.

  • Innovative Porch Design: A sleek hot galvanized steel tube profile defines the striking porch, which serves as an intermediary space between the interior and the exterior. This unique structure not only adds to the architectural allure but also contributes to cross ventilation within the house.

  • Efficient Solar Power: Embracing sustainability to the core, the BE house boasts a green roof adorned with lush vegetation, providing protection against direct sunlight and preventing overheating. On top of that, a powerful 12kWpic photovoltaic plant installed on the roof generates ample energy to power the entire house.

  • Energy Independence: Thanks to state-of-the-art accumulation batteries, the BE house can operate entirely off-grid, allowing it to disconnect from the conventional electricity supply while maintaining seamless functionality.
