ICONE, a new office complex in Belval, Luxembourg, spans 18,800 square meters and is filled with natural light and greenery. It was designed by Foster + Partners with the aim of addressing modern work needs while encouraging creativity and collaboration.
The building is located in a vibrant neighborhood that combines various activities such as research, education, entertainment, and commerce. The design strategy integrates the scale and character of the surrounding streets to create entrances that align with the pedestrian-friendly lifestyle and street level.
The building is arranged with two wings surrounding a central core, enclosed by a façade and roof that emphasize structural value and give the building an aesthetic that complements the surrounding industrial landscape.
The soft interior spaces contrast with the building's exterior, with open interior layouts enhancing the vibrancy of the spaces inside. This design approach also provides solutions that are well-suited to both structure and environment, aiming for an "Excellent" rating in the BREEAM certification.

University in India Designed by Foster+Partners with Outstanding Green Standards
The Research Center of DY Patil University has opened in Navi Mumbai. The ten-story building is designed to support the university's teaching methods and philosophy, providing high-quality learning and living spaces for 3,000 students. The project also includes a two-hectare rooftop garden with native plants, pond animals, and relaxation areas. The new building – the first educational project undertaken in India – is the result of close collaboration between Foster + Partners and the University's President, Dr. Vijay Patil. The project has achieved a LEED Platinum rating, the highest level of recognition.
