Foster + Partners studio has unveiled a new design for Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which is being constructed 20 kilometers south of the city center. Drawing from the local context and tropical climate, the design by Foster + Partners will feature a new airport along with a terminal whose net-like roof is designed to resemble the canopy of trees in an artificial tropical forest.
Stefan Behling, head of Foster + Partners, stated: "An airport is one of the most important public buildings, reflecting its iconic status as a gateway to a city and its vital role in a globalized economy."
