Admiring a Building with Unique Aesthetic and High Energy Efficiency

Share:

Located in a residential neighborhood near downtown Danville, this newly constructed home was designed based on the family’s old home, where they had lived for many years. After dismantling and recycling the old structure, a new, unique contemporary architectural home took shape. It features an underground garage and a main level built into the hillside, complemented by pool areas, terraces, and carefully preserved gardens both in the front and back yards.

The building features include:

  • Solar panels
  • Hydronic heating system
  • Passive ventilation strategies
  • Recycled materials with low carbon content
  • Double-glazed windows with wooden frames
  • Energy-efficient lighting and smart meters

This home is easy to maintain and live in. The homeowners noted that energy usage is less than half of what they consumed in their previous house, which was twice as large.

The home has been awarded the LEED Platinum NEW HOME certification.
